Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the official statement, "A mysterious encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying transformations resonate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden group.
The adventure concentrates on "peculiar trials and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Features
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to numerous artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's latest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
